Edward O. Raynolds

Edward Raynolds is a Principal of The Dilenschneider Group, which provides clients with access to seasoned communications professionals with experience in fields ranging from mergers and acquisitions and crisis communications to marketing, government affairs and international media.  He previously managed corporate communications for American Airlines for the East Coast, including New York, Boston and Washington, D.C.  At American, he enlisted specialty media to reach nearly half a million high-value consumers in Greater New York.

Mr. Raynolds is a veteran corporate communications executive and strategic advisor experienced in all phases of external and internal communications. He positions companies facing serious challenges with the news media, employees, customers, and the investment community, often working in a team approach with senior management, legal counsel and outside advisors.  Mr. Raynolds is a crisis communications specialist and executive media trainer.

An accomplished writer, he has authored dozens of speeches for CEOs and other C-level executives, as well as more than 60 annual reports, op-ed articles, Internet content, proposals, programs, and social media communications.  He is skilled at enlisting online and social media to obtain the most direct, immediate exposure for corporate messages.

Mr. Raynolds’ broad industry experience includes travel and transportation, banking and finance, pharmaceuticals, and electric and gas utilities.  He is also a financial communications and investor relations specialist having honed his corporate communications skills at the public relations firm of Hill+Knowlton Strategies, where he was Senior Managing Director in charge of an account group that served companies in a wide range of industries.  At Hill+Knowlton, Mr. Raynolds created and conducted an ongoing investor survey, The Hill and Knowlton Annual Report – Report, which tracked investor reactions to corporate annual reports and pointed up areas needing improvement.  He also authored several editions of the firm’s definitive corporate disclosure manual, The SEC, the Stock Exchanges and Your Financial Public Relations.

Subsequently, Mr. Raynolds held senior communications and investor relations positions at the electric utility, GPU, Inc. and Valley National Bancorp.  He began his corporate communications career at the American Stock Exchange where he was Manager of the Exchange’s News Bureau.

Mr. Raynolds earned his BA degree from Lehigh University and his MBA degree from the NYU Stern School of Business.
